RRCA Outstanding E-Newsletter (2011)

Our very own Wicked Running Register was selected by the Road Runners Club of America as an Outstanding E-Newsletter for 2011! This award recognizes the use of technology in communicating with members. The content of newsletter should appeal to a broad audience in a running club from beginners to competitive runners. A calendar of local events, club meetings and social gatherings, along with member achievements such as marathon finishers, and other special interest member stories are encouraged. Other content such as original articles, training and nutrition tips, and race reviews are also important elements. Congrats to our awesome Newsletter Editor Michele Campbell for all of her hard work each month! For more information about the RRCA please visit their website: www.rrca.org.

Salem Park & Rec Community Partnership Award (2010)

Since the 70-member Wicked Running Club was honored two years ago, it has grown to nearly 250 members and contributed to the city of Salem in many ways, including: hosting the Frosty Four Road Race on New Year’s Day; awarding scholarships for local high school students; conducting a holiday toy drive; initiating a sneaker recycling program; and partnering with the Parks & Recreation Department on the Wicked Kidz races and community movie night. The Wicked Running Club continues to flourish and provide a social and recreational outlet for runners of all abilities.
