It’s time to select your 2018 Board of Directors for the Wicked Running Club. Check your club email for a link to vote! Write-in candidates are welcome for all positions. A write-in candidate must be a current member in good standing. The election will be open until 5:00 p.m. on November 15. Official results will be announced on November 16.
TR and Lisa are running for a third year in their respective spots. They are running unopposed and according to the club’s by-laws, they are within their rights to continue to support the club in this way. Both candidates looked for alternatives to fill those positions and no interested parties committed. Kelly Thomas Pheulpin joined the Wicked Running Club in 2011, and happily rejoined every year since. Her biggest accomplishment with the club is heading up the “Slowest Runner Sets the Pace” group, organizing and promoting weekly runs as well as providing information for local races, all while encouraging new runners to join the club. She has been on the race committees for both the Frosty Four and the Miles Over the Moon races, and has also jumped in to volunteer at as many races as she can. She has also been a teammate on the Wicked Relay teams at Lynn Woods, Mill Cities and Lake Winnipesauke. She is also a certified Zumba instructor and a Skirt Sports ambassador.
“As a long-time member of Wicked, I can say that I truly love this club and enjoy being a member but I’ve also seen its ups and downs. I believe that under my leadership, Wicked can continue to grow and unify – we are stronger if we can band together and gather knowledge from ALL of our runners and members. Specifically, I would like to:
- Re-energize our Saturday Morning Runs – this is *the* staple run of the Wicked Running Club and it would be great to get it back to when dozens of runners, of all abilites, showed up at Forest River Park. I am open to some new ideas on how to re-vamp this (perhaps changing the time with the season – a little earlier in Spring/Summer, a little later in Fall/Winter – our own version of “spring forward, fall back”) or some other benefit to help attract more runners.
- Maintain existing affiliations with USATF – and other local clubs to see how we can partner on races or events in the future.
- More social events – try to have more opportunities to get to know one another. We have a tendency to stick with our pace groups – let’s get to know other runners who we never get to run with.
I am truly committed to helping the Wicked Running Club move forward in positive ways and I have the dedication and organizational skills needed to lead this club. I love helping others accomplish their goals, and I know I can be a positive influence on every runner in the club.

I’ve been a member of wicked since Jan 1st 2009. Since I joined, I’ve served the club in many ways. I’ve been a member on just about every race committee since joining, I’ve been the Wicked Grand Prix series co-coordinator for the past 8 years, and I’ve been the Mill Cities liaison and coordinator for the past 7 years. I’ve helped organize both the summer outing and winter banquet for as many years, and also help set up the teams for the Lynn Woods relay, as well as the Tufts relay. I’m also the returning Frosty Four race director for the 4th year, and I’ve served on the BOD for the past 8 consecutive years, as MAL twice, V.P., President twice, Past President, and currently as V.P. for 2 years. This has earned me the distinction of being the only Wicked member that has ever served on this many boards. Something I am most proud of, is having been presented with the Wicked Ambassador Award in 2015.
It’s fairly apparent that I love this club and the people in it. I want to see Wicked continue to grow year after year with more members, bigger races, and continued good times. Runners are a breed of athlete unlike any other. We are the most enthusiastic, outgoing, and compassionate people anywhere. Just take a peek on FB and you’ll see what I mean. Whether it’s someone that crushes a PR, or bonks at a big race, fellow runners will jump in to congratulate or console. This is why I love running, and this is why I love Wicked.
I am running for the secretary position. I have been a member of the running club for 4 years and served this past year as Member at large. I was part of the scholarship committee for 2 years and served as chairperson this past year. I would like to continue to be a member of the board and be involved in any activities that will continue to have the club be recognized as a great club to be a part as well as giving back to the local community. I have been a Wicked member since 2012 and 2018 will be my fourth year as a member of the Wicked Board of Directors. I have served as Treasurer for the past two years and I was the membership director during 2015. I am thrilled to continue as Treasurer for the upcoming year.
In addition to my responsibilities as Treasurer I also served as co/assistant-director of the Frosty Four and as Wicked’s assistant representative on the Mill Cities Alliance. The Mill Cities Alliance has again chosen my idea for the participant giveaway. This makes three out of four years. I also help organize the Wicked Summer BBQ and the Winter Banquet.
When I’m not running or at a running event or running related meeting I am the Controller for a small company where I am responsible for managing; the money, reporting, payroll, compliance and risk. I have a degree in accounting & an M.B.A. and I’ve worked as an accountant for many years. I’m looking forward to continuing as Treasurer for Wicked.
I love our running club and am honored to serve on the board in any capacity.
Hi! My name is Pete…you may remember me from such adventures as 2017 Membership Director. For those that don’t know me, I’ve been a Wicked member since 2011 and over the years I’ve helped out at races, contributed to the newsletter, and photographed many races and events, and have always worn my Wicked red when doing so.
In 2016 I was selected as member-of-the-month and also received the ambassador award. The following year I joined the board as Membership Director. I’ve had a blast taking care of renewals and welcoming new members into the club. I hope that I have made the process smooth and enjoyable. I would like to continue in this position and hope that the membership has liked what I’ve done and will consider me for a second term.
My name is Krissy Kozlosky and I have been a member of the Wicked Running Club for 5 years. During the last two years I have been a member of the Wicked Register which is our e-newsletter. I contribute mostly as our co-photographer but also do recruiting for content and also supply content when needed. This year will be my fourth year as a Wicked Iron Runner. I also participated in the half of the USATF New England Grand Prix road races in 2017 and plan to continue my membership and represent the club in USATF New England Road Race Grand Prix in 2018. Starting this summer I have been coordinating Saturday long runs for Slowest Runners Sets the Pace group. This year was my first year volunteering at the Boston Marathon with Wicked and had so much fun. I was also a committee member for our Miles Over The Moon scholarship committee. I have past experience as clothing director and membership coordinator while I sat on the board with the North Shore Striders for 9 years. I am looking forward in acting as your Clothing Director for 2018.
I am submitting my name for consideration of your vote for member at large on the Wicked Running Club Board of Directors. As a cofounder of the Wicked Running Club some 14 years ago, I feel a part of me has always been strongly connected to Wicked. I have served on the Board in the past for about 8 or 9 years. While the past few years, I haven’t been very active in the Club I still always wear my Wicked red shirt when I enter any road races and always still talk up what a great Club Wicked is to runners and attempt to get them to join. I enjoy getting to meet new members and still have made many lifelong friends thru Wicked. When I was asked to come back to the Board this year, I was hesitant as I believe new members should join the Board and I was on the Board for many years. I said I would consider becoming a member at large to help generate more involvement on the Board and more enthusiasm in the Club. As far as past involvement, I was part of initiating almost every special event the Club puts on from Winter and Summer banquet and outings to the Road races the club hosts to the Wicked Kids race and weekly run at Forest River Park. Overall, I have a good deal of experience in the running community that could complement the Club going forward.
My name is Debbie Everett, and I’m running as a 2018 Candidate for Member-at-Large on the Wicked Running Club Board of Directors. I have been a member of Wicked Running Club since 2011. Over the years, I have volunteered at events, run in series and races, and competed in all of the Club relays. My favorite thing about the Club is that there is something for everyone. I like seeing our fastest runners place well in races and the USATF series. I like meeting people who have started (or re-started) running in the past year. I may not be one of the fastest runners, but I am able to take part in all of the club events and enjoy competing at my own level. I believe the fact that our club welcomes and includes runners of all speeds and experience levels is something very special about us.
I’m running for Member-at-Large to help bring our club to the next level of community responsibility. For many years we have been known as a Club that gives back- through our Wicked Frosty Four Scholarship, through our volunteer efforts at other races and through the race proceeds we send to various charitable organizations. I think the next step for our club to demonstrate concern for the community is to include recycling and composting at our events. Making sure we are responsible in our race management and disposal practices is not just the right thing to do, it also shows how much we respect the host communities where we run.
